ETact
recently participated the product launch of HP's Tablet
PC in Indonesia on 17 February 2003, 09.30 – 12.30
in Mulia Hotel
Jakarta. In this event, ETact was invited to join in
as a Technology partner by presenting M-Station.
'Powered to Take
you Places' was the theme
of the launch, M-Station shows the guests just that,
with HP IPAQ on what latest technology has to offer
on Mobile Office Enterprise Solutions.
M-Station is a multi-function unit combined with Wireless
Communication Module(GPRS/802.11b), Micro printer, Card
Reader and IrDA Port provides the user to transfer COMPAQ
iPAQ H3000 Series PDA. into mobile office, easy-to-use,
quick-to-serve and secure-to-sync.
ETact
presented the various business scenarios on the solutions
provided by M-Station. Various business solutions such
as:
Mobile Payment
Point of Sales
Hotel Check-in/Checkout
Ticketing
Mobile Sales Force Automation
Legal Enforcement
Logistics/Home Delivery
One of ETact's case studies features a traffic law enforcer
in US, Texas, Austin and Las Vegas using the Mobile
Officer's Assistant (MOA) to quickly check license plates
for registration violations and stolen vehicles, and
drivers’ licenses for outstanding warrants.
The operations was much simplified reducing a lot of
costs:
Swipe drivers’ licenses
Create a traffic citation automatically
Capture motorist signature
Print the ticket
Transmits a digital version to headquarters
The benefits were incredible, the traffic enforcement
in San Francisco Police Department is able to:
Contributes to officer safety
Contributes to the apprehension of wanted
suspects and the recovery of stolen vehicles
Reduces the time required by an officer to issue a traffic
citation (more important, increases the time available
for patrol)
Eliminates the need for records departments and courts
to hand-enter citation data
Collects/stores racial profiling audit data
Speeds the processing of citations.
Many HP Indonesia partners' were impressed with the
capability of the IPAQ and M-Station. They are very
excited about buidling their own potential killer apps.
